Copyright, Licensing, and Usage Statement
Paper Pixel Studio
Effective date: August 25, 2026
Last updated: August 25, 2026
1. Ownership
All original artwork, illustrations, paintings, fabric and pattern designs, photographs, written content, and related creative works displayed across this website and any affiliated shops, blogs, or storefronts (collectively, the “Works”) are created by and are the sole property of the individual operating as Paper Pixel Studio, a sole proprietorship (“Paper Pixel Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), unless a Work is explicitly marked otherwise.
The Works are protected under United States copyright law (Title 17, U.S. Code) and applicable international copyright treaties. Copyright in each Work exists automatically upon creation and is not contingent on registration, watermarking, or the presence of a copyright notice. Watermarks present on Works displayed online, including on third-party platforms, are applied as a visible mark of authorship and ownership and do not indicate that a Work is otherwise unprotected or available for unrestricted use.
2. What Is Not Permitted
Except as expressly permitted under Section 3 (Editorial and Press Use) or under a separate written license granted by Paper Pixel Studio, no person, business, platform, or automated system may do any of the following with respect to the Works without prior written permission:
– Reproduce, copy, download, or redistribute any Work, in whole or in part
– Sell, resell, or offer for sale any Work or a derivative of any Work, including on any print-on-demand platform, ecommerce marketplace, wholesale channel, or manufactured retail product
– Apply any Work, or a work substantially similar to it, to physical goods including but not limited to apparel, fabric, home goods, accessories, or packaging
– Create derivative works, including recoloring, cropping, mirroring, tracing, or otherwise altering a Work while retaining its substantial creative elements
– Use any Work for commercial purposes of any kind
– Ingest, process, or use any Work or written content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or otherwise develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, or to generate outputs derived from or substantially similar to the Works
– Remove, obscure, or alter any watermark, signature, or copyright notice present on a Work
– Claim authorship or ownership of any Work
This prohibition applies regardless of the means by which a Work was accessed or obtained, including automated scraping, manual download, screenshot, or resale by an intermediary who did not have the right to grant further use.
3. Editorial and Press Use
Consistent with existing fair use principles under U.S. copyright law (17 U.S.C. § 107), Paper Pixel Studio permits limited use of watermarked Works and excerpts of written content for editorial, journalistic, review, or press purposes, including news reporting, commentary, criticism, and educational discussion, provided that:
– The Work is used in its watermarked form and is not altered to remove attribution
– The use is limited to what is reasonably necessary to illustrate or support the editorial content
– Clear attribution is given to Paper Pixel Studio (or the applicable brand or shop name) and, where practicable, a link back to the original source is included
– The use does not imply endorsement of any product, service, or viewpoint by Paper Pixel Studio without separate written consent
– The Work is not used as the primary commercial asset of the publication (for example, as a magazine cover for sale, or as promotional material for a paid product)
This editorial allowance does not extend to commercial use, product use, or use in AI training datasets, regardless of framing.
4. Licensing
Uses beyond those described in Section 3 require a separate written license from Paper Pixel Studio. Licensing may be available for commercial use, print production, wholesale, editorial use beyond the scope above, or other purposes, subject to negotiated terms and fees.
To request a license, contact:
Email: licensing@paperpixelstudio.com
Please include the specific Work(s) of interest, the intended use, distribution scope, and duration when making a request.
5. Enforcement
Paper Pixel Studio actively monitors for unauthorized use of the Works across ecommerce marketplaces, print-on-demand platforms, retail products, and the open web. Unauthorized use may result in:
– Formal takedown notices submitted to the hosting platform or marketplace, including under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice-and-takedown process
– Cease-and-desist correspondence
– Claims under applicable copyright and trademark law, including the Lanham Act where relevant
– Pursuit of statutory or actual damages, and attorneys’ fees where available
Automated systems, including AI crawlers and scrapers, are directed to the technical access controls specified in this site’s robots.txt file, which reflects the restrictions described in Section 2. This statement governs regardless of whether a given automated system observes those technical controls.
6. Scope
This statement applies to all Works displayed on or distributed through any website, shop, or storefront operated by Paper Pixel Studio, including third-party platforms such as Etsy, Redbubble, Zazzle, and similar marketplaces, regardless of which individual brand or shop name is used on a given platform. Paper Pixel Studio is the operating name of a sole proprietorship; all associated brands and shop names are operated by the same individual rights holder, and this statement applies uniformly across them.
7. Changes to This Statement
This statement may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in law, platforms, or business practices. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued unauthorized use of the Works after an update does not require separate notice to be actionable under the terms in effect at the time of use.
